The Net has Changed Real Estate Forever

Specific to the internet, I remember the days back in college when there were a good handful of search engines. Now there are only a few (at least well known) and Google definitely is king of the hill. Google has become increasingly effective at allowing us to sift through countless bytes of information to find the exact information we seek. It’s an amazing time to live!

When it comes to real estate in particular the internet has provided an interesting proposition. According to NAR upwards of 90% of buyers looking for a home start their search online. Just a few years ago having a website was a good idea, now it’s an absolute necessity. Additionally, Meredith Oliver (an online guru for the real estate industry) stated @ IBS 2010 that because 80% of those making home purchasing decisions are women a builder’s website should be stuffed full of useful information (photos, videos, floor plans, easily accessible contact info etc). Buying a new home is serious (and expensive) business and in order to make an informed decision the buyer has to have access to pertinent information.

Over the past several years each of our communities has had a website. Our latest development, Park’s Edge, bumps Park city real estate up a notch. These Park City homes are some of the most energy efficient and green in the area. Not only is Park’s Edge one of our best communities but also has one of our most visually stunning and useful websites. Take a look and tell me what you think.
